University of Ghana to Distribute ID Cards to Levels 200 and 300 Humanities Students

Dumelo, who contested in the 2020 general elections under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, lost to the incumbent, Honorable Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). SUPPLEMENTARY RESIT REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED - UGSRC

UG Campus, Accra. By: Siaw M. Bright  The University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UGSRC) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for supplementary re-sit. In a statement released on 24 February 2023, the Deputy PRO of UGSRC, Ms. Ernestina Hamdiiya Mahama, explained that the extension had become necessary due to the increased cost of supplementary re-sit registration. Notably, the extension will last for an extra week, giving students until Friday, March 3, 2023, to complete their registrations. The SRC has urged students to take advantage of this extension and complete their registrations within the scheduled time. According to an email sent to students by the Director of Academic Affairs, L.A. Nyako-Danquah (Mrs.), the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs has granted permission for the re-opening of the registration portal. The special concession is available for three types of students: First, for the Distance Education Program, students at all levels can register from Monday, February 20th, 2023, to Friday, February 24th, 2023.  Second, for Regular Undergraduate Programs, students at Levels 200, 300, and 400 can register from Monday, February 20th, 2023, to Friday, March 3rd, 2023.  Finally, for Regular Graduate Programs, students at all levels can register during the same period, from Monday, February 20th, 2023, to Friday, March 3rd, 2023. Bright The University of Ghana Management has granted a one-week extension of academic registration following a plea from the Student Representative Council (SRC) executives and the leadership of the SRC General Assembly. The initial deadline for academic registration was the 10th of February 2023. More so, the University's Academic Affairs Directorate, in a letter signed by Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah (Mrs.), issued a notice confirming that academic registration had come to an end. This announcement left some students stranded, especially those who could not pay their school fees and register for their courses on time due to financial constraints. UNIVERSITY OF GHANA DID NOT CHARGE FEES ILLEGALLY - EDUCATION MINISTRY

Bright   The Committee on Education in Ghana's Parliament in a statement put out on 15th February 2023 clarified that the University of Ghana did not charge fees illegally, and the fees levied by the University Management are within the lawful limits authorized by parliament. This development comes after the University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UGSRC) and the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) sent a petition to parliament, accusing the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo of charging illegal fees. A statement signed by Hon.
