UNIVERSITY OF GHANA'S AFRICA INTEGRAS HOSTEL NEARING COMPLETION TO EASE ACCOMMODATION CHALLENGES FOR STUDENTS

The University of Ghana is making significant strides in addressing student accommodation challenges with the construction of the Africa Integras Hostel. The Pro-Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs, Professor Gordon A. Awandare, accompanied by other management members, recently visited the construction site to assess the progress of work.

The project, which is currently at its roofing stage, will provide accommodation for approximately 1,000 students when completed. The hostel will be equipped with reading rooms, laundry rooms, kitchenettes, mini libraries, and offices to enhance students' living and learning experiences. Additionally, the hostel will have solar power in the common areas, ensuring an eco-friendly living environment for students. The Africa Integras Hostel is part of the university management's efforts to alleviate the challenges students face with on-campus accommodation. The project is expected to be completed in time for occupancy next academic year.
Previously, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, had toured the project site with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation, and Development, Prof. Felix A. Asante, to assess progress. Accompanying Professor Awandare on his recent visit were Mrs. Elizier Ameyaw-Buronyah, Director of Public Affairs Directorate, Mr. Francis K. Boachie, Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO), Mr. Patrick Kuti, Deputy CITO, and Major (Rtd.) Adams Gariba, Security Coordinator.
Students have lauded the University management as they believe the Africa Integras Hostel project is a great step towards improving the overall quality of life for students at the University of Ghana. The Vice-Chancellor has over the years demonstrated a strong commitment to providing modern and comfortable accommodation for students, which will undoubtedly enhance the academic experience for all.
The Africa Integras Hostel is a testament to the university's commitment to increasing student housing, and it is sure to improve students' experiences on campus. With the completion of the project, students can look forward to a comfortable and conducive environment that will enable them to concentrate on their studies and achieve their academic goals.
