SUPPLEMENTARY RESIT REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED - UGSRC

The University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UGSRC) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for supplementary re-sit. In a statement released on 24 February 2023, the Deputy PRO of UGSRC, Ms. Ernestina Hamdiiya Mahama, explained that the extension had become necessary due to the increased cost of supplementary re-sit registration.



Notably, the extension will last for an extra week, giving students until Friday, March 3, 2023, to complete their registrations. The SRC has urged students to take advantage of this extension and complete their registrations within the scheduled time.

Over the past few days, the UGSRC has been in talks with university management to negotiate a reduction in the cost of supplementary re-sit registration. Truly, the leadership of the SRC has been committed to ensuring that the interests of students are protected, and students are hopeful that the SRC will not give up on advocating for a reduction in the cost of supplementary registration.

Many students have welcomed the extension of the registration deadline, saying that it will give them more time to gather the necessary funds for registration. Some have also expressed hope that the negotiations between the SRC and the university management will yield positive results and lead to a reduction in the cost of supplementary re-sit registration.

The main re-sit is limited to first-semester courses only.   2. Students who opt for main re-sit must take part in assessments which may include Interim Assessments ( I.A), assignments, and others relating to the registered re-sit course in addition to the end-of-semester examination.  3. Students can log on to the University's S.T.S portal and pay for their re-sit registration fee. Alternatively, payment of the re-sit registration fee can be done at the University's Cash Office. The portal will be open from February 20th, 2023 to February 24th, 2023, providing students with an opportunity to register for supplementary re-sits. According to the University's academic calendar, the supplementary re-sit registration period is an essential component of the academic year.
