UGSRC GENERAL ASSEMBLY SPEAKERSHIP ELECTIONS: ELECTORAL COMMISSION SET TO OPEN NOMINATIONS
Chapter three (3), article seven (7) clause one (1 i) of the UGSRC Constitution gives the Electoral Commissioner the sole right to open nominations and conduct elections to elect the Speaker of the SRC General Assembly - which is the highest decision-making body of the University of Ghana Student Representative Council.

This is what the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, DANIEL KWASI DZREKEY had to say when asked about what aspirants should expect from the commission concerning the General assembly elections, "The Commission is ready to open nominations for the General Assembly Speakership election. The date and other important information about the election will be made known to students as soon as possible and what is expected of aspirants is for them to meet the Constitutional requirements to contest as the Chairman/Speaker of the UGSRC General Assembly. As always, the Commission will ensure that the electioneering process will be transparent to all aspirants"
The Commissioner also indicated that aspirants should expect to pick nomination forms online and submit the forms in person to the Chairman of the Commission before the stipulated deadline.
